When I was younger I lived in a spiritual center for some time. There was a lot of meditation there and spirituality was the most important thing. For this, sexuality was suppressed (sublimated). Astonishingly, the consumption of chocolate by the residents increased drastically. Even then I was wondering if there was a connection.
Do people try to secure the "sweetness of life" with chocolate & Co. rather than with fulfilling sexuality?
In any case, Pronova BKK published the results of a study in 2017: According to this, women are more likely to do without sex than chocolate and sweets. For men, the trend is reversed.
However, it remains to be seen whether chocolate can really replace the lack of sex. What do you think about?
